Spring Nails

Image
Spring is almost upon us, so it's time to rock out those spring nail colours. These 3 are definitely my favourites when it comes to spring nails. Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Polish in the shade Huckleberry- £3.99 Nails inc. By InStyle in the shade Copacabana Coral- £11.00 Rimmel Lycra Pro in the shade 420 Aqua Cool- They don't sell these anymore in Boots or Superdrug but I found it on Fragrance Direct reduced from £5.99 to 99p Here ! What are your favourite colours for Spring? Lots of love, Son x

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel

Image
I have been lusting after this bronzer for absolutely ages and was able to get my hands on it, and it was love at first swatch. Firstly can we just appreciate how amazingly gorgeous the packaging of this product is. The sleek tub embossed with the iconic Chanel logo makes this look really special. The tub is pretty hefty, so might not be great for travelling. Although it does come with 30g of product which is more than double of the rest of my bronzers! So for the extortionate £32 this baby will last you a heck of a long time! I cant quite pin point the formula of this but I would best describe it as a cream to powder finish which is perfect for when you want your bronzer to last. It is the perfect matte shade for my skin with the perfect amount of pigmentation to add a really lovely bronzed glow without looking over the top. I am just in awe of how beautiful this is. I hope you are all well and looking forward to spring. Don't forget to follow my twitter here  to ke

Toni&Guy Reconstruction Mask

Image
I've been really loving this mask recently, after getting a long overdue trim I promised myself that I would not let my hair get into the awful condition that it got to before. I use this mask about once a week and let it sink into the ends for about 10 minutes before rinsing and basking in the silkiness left behind. It is sold in Boots for around £8 I believe and has really been helping keeping my hair nourished and soft. Lots of love, Son x

Brighton Outfit & Photos

Image
I went to stay with my friend in the lovely Brighton for a few days at the beginning of this week and I thought I would share with you guys my outfit and a few of the pics I took on my phone whilst I was there. We were really lucky with the weather at is was really warm with a slight breeze, so we took it upon ourselves to embrace the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine. I hope you are all well and looking forward to the transition into Spring! Enjoy.. <3 Outfit Roll Neck Knitted Jumper- Jack Wills (Men's, courtesy of my boyfriend) Jeans- Topshop Leighs Shoes- Timberlands Sunglasses- Primark   I know the pictures aren't great quality but I didn't take my blogging camera with me so I'm really sorry about that. I hope you liked this slightly different post today. Lots of love, Son x

Travel Skincare Essentials

Image
As this post goes up I will be in Brighton visiting a friend, wooooo. So I have compacted my skincare products down to the bare minimal and I thought I would share with you the 4 products that I couldn't leave behind. Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish - This travel size of my fave cleanser is the perfect product for on the go and seriously packs a punch in the cleansing department. It removes all traces of makeup without drying out the skin and it feels like you're pampering your face every time you use it. Josie Maran Argan Oil Light - I love this for injecting a tonne of moisture into my skin after moisturising as I find that it is the best at locking in all the juices.. mm. Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Serum- I have mentioned this a few times on my blog as it has been a ongoing participant in my skincare routine for about 2 years now and 5 tubes later. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to absorb 1,000 times its weight in water making this plump up your skin and really h

Soft Ocre

Image
The latest edition to my MAC family comes in the form of the pro longwear paint pot in the shade Soft Ocre. It is one of those well renowned cult products that the world and her dog seems to own. So I couldn't help jumping on the bandwagon. This is the perfect yellow toned base for all over the lid to get rid of any pigmentation or veins that you want to cover up if going for a natural make up look. Also it does what it says on the pot and pro longs eyeshadow wear without creasing. The formula isn't drying although once set lasts up to 12 hours. Definitely up there in my top recent purchases. Lots of love Son, x

Red.

Image
After uploading my "Red Lips Cat Flick" post here , I decided to do a whole post focused on my go-to red lip. This combo forms the most perfect red lip look I think I have ever found. The liner creates an amazing base for the lipstick to follow and ensures the longevity of your pout and makes sure the lipstick doesn't bleed and smudge all over your face by the end of the day. My particular fave red liner of the moment is max factors colour elixir in the shade red rush, which costs a mere £4.99 in the likes of boots. Now let's schooch on over to the more pricier side of things. Hourglass is definitely a high end brand and the price tag coincides with the label. This lipstick costs £22, I know, ouch! but I definitely think it is worth it. Kind of like Mac's Lady Danger, this has a slight orangey undertone which I really think suits my skin tone. It attains a really moisturising formula so doesn't leave you with cracked flaky lips. Lots of love, Son x

The Highlight

Image
Highlighters have never really been my jam so to speak and to be honest they still aren't but this Mac mineralized skin finish in soft and gentle  £23 has been a fab for those days where my skin is just in the need for a little bit of a glow. My gosh does this swirled, luminescent, shimmery beauty look wonderful in the pan, who wouldn't want to smear a shed load of glitter on their face. Okay, no I exaggerate, the beauty of this is that although it is massively shimmery in pan, when dusted lightly onto the tops of the cheekbones creates the most gorgeous glow without looking like a disco ball having slathered glitter all over the face using some kind of rollerball gadget, we all used to do it (not the best of looks), c'mon don't deny it! I use this with a small flat topped brush and find that this works best at distributing even amounts of product. Probably not something I would reach for on an everyday basis but great to rock out on special occasions to

A Primer For Every Occasion

Image
A lot of the time I feel that primers are overlooked and are proclaimed unnecessary, but I have become a primer convert recently and I wanted to share my top 3 primers for different occasions with you. Rimmel Fix and Perfect- (£6.99) This one is for those long old days where you just want your make up to last, is that too much to ask? Using this primer I would say my make up honestly lasts twice as long and the whole application process is just a lot quicker and my pores are minimised and skin tone is more even. Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer- (£10.99) For those dull looking face days i.e. everyday for me... I use this most days under foundation to just brighten the skin and add a little bit more moisture. It has teeny flecks of shimmer which just add a lovely glowy hue to the skin. Laura Mercier-Radiance Bronze (£29) The most expensive of the bunch and probably my least favourite, although still fabulous! First time I applied this I honestly thought it could b

Red Lips Cat Flick

Image
Sometimes my desire to live in the 60's gets a hold of me and I subconsciously end up exploring the world of the pin up make up look. Today was one of those days and I am super happy with the result! A dewy looking finish to the face, a sleek cat flick with liquid liner, a slick of the red stuff and we're practically looking like Marilyn Monroe already...(I wish!). Seriously though this look is a favourite for those days when you feel like you need a bit of a make up pick me up and are willing to spend at least half an hour redoing that eye line, maybe that's just me! What do you think of this kind of make up look? Lots of love, Son x

Dior Colour Awakening Lip Balm

Image
I know you may be thinking "Isn't this just a super expensive glorified tube of Vaseline?" and yes, you probably are right but heck, who cares! Actually, I would definitely give this more credit than that. I'm not quite sure how it does it but I feel like this can seriously transform your lips from looking really dull, to looking super glossy and plump. This is infused with technology that can change colour according to the temperature of your lips and literally suits every skin tone. I has a really lovely rosey tint to it and wears really well all day. As it is also a lip balm you still feel as though your lips are being taken care of a nourished which is fab. Super impressed with this and would recommend it to anyone that has a slightly larger budget or wants to treat themselves to something they can use everyday! What is your fave lip product at the moment? Lots of love, Son x

Bold Metals Flat Contour Brush

Image
I can't quite get over how beautiful this brush looks. Real Techniques recently released a new range targeted at a slightly higher budget, promising more high end quality then their counterparts. I was super excited and checked out the brushes as soon as the opportunity arose. The range comes with 7 brushes for various different tasks. I must say none of them really tickled my fancy as much as I thought they would but this one stood out for me. The 301 contour brush, I had to have it.  The bristles are cased in a beautiful rose gold metal handle. The brush hairs are highly dense and can pack a punch when it comes to applying contour and blending smoothly. You have to be wary though that you don't apply too much product because it is easy to end up with a muddy streak, although is very easy to blend out. The price of this is £22 exclusive to Boots, so quite considerably higher than the original real techniques brushes but I can see the difference in quality with
