5 Product Flawless Base

Image
Some mornings we just don't have the time and effort to spend a gazillion years on making ourselves look presentable, yet we don't want to scare people away by the telling signs of lack of sleep or stress or poor eating, am I right? for times like these I rely purely on the basics and these products are what I have found to be my faves for those quick application, quick out the door make up days. Bourjois healthy mix foundation- I'm sure this can blend into the skin within seconds giving the most flawless looking complexion. It is also moisturising which helps when in need of avoiding those dry, dehydrated patches. Clarins instant concealer- Who needs know we hardly got any sleep last night? The formula of this is so lightweight you would be surprised at the amount of coverage it gives. Can also be used on spots to conceal any redness you might have. No cakiness to be seen and all the remnants of stress or bad eating have been brushed away. Maybelline the rocket ma

Worth The Hype?

Image
YouTube and blogs are like a never ending game of Chinese whispers, an opinion of a product is passed on from one person to another and every time it is passed to the next person the opinion can change and is passed on to the next in a different light. Sometimes I buy in to the products which are raved about as I really just want to experience first hand what people are raving about and if I agree. On this occasion I put my hands up and admit that I was heavily influenced by the likes of other bloggers whose opinions I entirely trust.   Clarins Instant Concealer-£21- I have been eyeing this up ever since it became a big thing on YouTube a couple of months ago and damnn is it good! it gives the perfect amount of coverage without looking too cakey and feeling too thick on the skin. I have the shade 02 which I found to be pretty pink toned which is fab for getting rid of those pesky under eye circles! I'm a sucker for a good concealer and this is definitely up there!   L

What's On My Face

I love this coppery eye look with a dark neutral lip so I thought I would tell you guys what I used to achieve this look.   Base- Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. An absolute gem, completely smoothes out the skin tone and covers any redness or blemishes.   -Nars Pressed Powder in Beach. Really finely milled powder with the perfect amount of coverage, still letting your natural glow shine through.   -Benefit Hoola Bronzer. duhh. Need I say more? Love, Love, Love!   Brows- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow wiz- this is fab for creating super natural looking brows and just filling in any gaps you may have.   Eyeshadow- Barry M dazzle dust shade 53. wow, this pigment creates the most gorgeous wash of shimmery goodness on the eye. You only need a teeny bit patted onto the lid and a teeny bit placed on the lower lash line and the difference it makes is phenomenal! (Be warned, this is a b***h to get out of carpets, I should know:/)   Mascara- Estee Lauder Sumptous Bold-

OGX- Argan Oil of Morocco

Image
To be really honest I tried this hair pair on a whim as I had a coupon for boots that needed using up and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this duo. I am definitely not one for switching up my hair care routine unnecessarily as my scalp just can't cope with certain products and ingredients and I don't want to risk upsetting it. However, I have heard so many praises being sung about ogx's line I wasn't so nervous about this endeavour into a world of new hair products. I was a tad disappointed at the scent of this, although non-offending, smells a lot like men's shower gel which I wasn't expecting. The shampoo lathers well and cleanses the scalp and hair without leaving my scalp dry and flaky which I find rare nowadays. The conditioner penetrates the ends of the hair and leaves it with a silky-smooth texture which is easy to manage and looks super healthy. Also since using these I have found that my hair needs washing considerably less

Pamper Night Ticklist

Quick side note before I proceed with the post: Side note: I have just created a new twitter account purely for my blog and I would love love love it if you could go and follow me on it:) @Sonita_beauty or click on this link . I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much guys.   Long days working in retail being on your feet for up to 9 hours in a day are really exhausting and when I have days like this all I want to do is come home and relax. Last night was one of those nights and I thought I would show you the kind of things I like to indulge in to relax myself after a stressful day at work. Firstly, running a bath is number one priority, aided by a Lush bath bomb and you're all set to soak your stresses away! I like to listen to relaxing music in the bath and I honestly sit in there for hours! Lighting a candle. There's something about having a flickering light of warmth and sweet scent that really calms me. Especially this Yankee candle in Black Coconu

It's a peachy shade with gold shimmer running through it creating a gorgeous rose gold shade and dayum does it look good! You only need a tiny bit swept over your cheekbones and they automatically look lifted and glowing with that natural blushed effect we are all looking for! It can literally be bought almost anywhere as well as benefit is stocked in so many shops! It costs £23.50 which although probably a bit too pricey for a lot of people is a very reasonable price for a product so lovely! I hope you are all well! Lots of love, Son x

I Have Found The One In a Perfume

Image
Giorgio Armani's Si has been playing on my mind for yonks now. Every time I have been in to a boots or fragrance shop I have subconsciously found myself swanning over to the Giorgio Armani counter, spraying Si and being engulfed in its wonderful aromas. The one thing that let me down was the price tag, although expected with such a high end product, £80 for a perfume was definitely not within my budget. However my mum had noticed my woes and surprised me with this, what an absolute star. It is the loveliest most light and fresh but sweet and floral perfume I have ever smelt and I couldn't be happier. I think I have found the perfume for me! What is your favourite perfume? Lots of love, Son x

Expanding My [comfort zone]

Image
After trialling and falling in love with comfort zone's hydramemory serum and raving about it to every person I possibly could I received this as a Christmas present and I can honestly say its just as good! This is super lightweight and smooth and sinks into the skin hassle free. It plumps up the face and gives it a really glowing look. I think it may be more on the pricey side but is worth every penny in my books. Super Duper happy with this and will one hundred percent be trying some of their other stuff out! Lots of love, Son x

Kevyn Aucoin Got Me

Image
Kevyn Aucoin is one of those brands whose products you look at and instantly go "ooh I want it". This is definitely not what happened here...oops. I know I really don't need any more make up let alone eyeshadows but faced with packaging and shades so beautiful it was almost impossible to resist. The shiny, sleek casing holds an eyeshadow duo, one cool toned pink and one ashy brown, both matte. They are both wonderfully highly pigmented and not at all chalky in texture. They are both really wearable for everyday and make your eyes look stunning and natural. I think I may have to try out Kevyn Aucoin's sculpting powder next. Lots of love, Son x

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks

Image
These are honestly some of the most wonderful lip products I have tried. The formula is so long lasting and matte and they are really pigmented. I have 2 shades- Frambourjoise (the pinker shade) and Hot Pepper (the bright orangey red shade). I love both of these and I think they're so wearable for any time, whether that be during the day for a casual look or dressed up on a night out! I have been wearing them both lots recently and have had lots of compliments on them! Hot Pepper is also a great dupe for Mac's lipstick in lady danger but at a fraction of the price! Lots of love, Son x

A Few New Beauty Bits

Image
I must confess, the Selfridges and John Lewis January sales got the better of me and I just could not resist splurging on a few products that have been sitting in my imaginary basket for yonks and finally found themselves being checked out. I would say I regret spending so much money on beauty things that I don't NEED but I would be lying.. sorreey bank! So here is a little run down of the products I have bought.  Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, Hot Cloth Cleanser (starter kit)- £14.95 After trying this a few times and family and friends houses and falling in love with it, I decided I couldn't scrounge of their products any longer and I had to pick it up for myself. The starter kit comes with a waterproof wash bag/make up bag which is super handy, 2 muslin cloths and obviously the cleanser itself. This cleanser makes it all too easy to wash away the day's make up and leave your skin feeling ultra nourished and squeaky clean.  Mac Eyesahow in Antiqued- £1

Neutral Look Featuring Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Box

Image
I got this fab shadow box for Crimbo this year and I was amazed at the wide array of different shades and tones it contained. So, I thought it might be a nice idea to create a few different looks using this palette and showing you guys what I come up with. I wanted to ease myself into this palette as I have never really worn very dramatic eye looks before so its a neutral look to start with! I used smog all over the lid and blended a teeny bit of mushroom into the crease to add a lovely shadowed effect. On the lips is Clinique's chubby stick in 07 broadest berry and on the cheeks, Benefit's Coralista blush. All of the other products you guys have seen 1001 times now! Will do another one of these with a more colourful look soon. Lots of love, Son x
