Autumnal Walks

Image
Autumn is definitely upon us, which means the obligatory Autumnal walks among the beautiful burnt orange "greenery". As I was in Oxford staying with my boyfriend for the weekend I decided to take my camera and capture it's beauty. Thanks is due to my lovely boyfriend for taking charge of the camera and seizing some wonderful shots. Although my boyfriend and I were feeling exceptionally poorly we still managed to brave the outdoors and appreciate its offerings, and how glad we were that we did. I can't express just how lovely this weekend was and how grateful I am to have such amazing people in my life. I love how easy it is nowadays to capture the greatest memories to keep forever and it makes it even more special to share them with others who may hopefully enjoy them too. I have been loving doing more lifestyle posts recently and have another one coming soon if you guys are interested.  I hop

Back To Basics

Image
This palette is 100% my most used palette and is brought out pretty much every day, it has the perfect array of shades to create an abundance of beautiful looks. 5 out of 6 of the shadows are matte which, for everyday looks is all I need and more, and the shimmery ivory shade is perfect as a brow bone highlight or to make the eyes pop when used in the inner corner. It is priced at £23 which I personally think is a brilliant price for 6 super high quality, wearable shadows. The black can also be smudged into the lash line to create a smokey liner look as well as being blended into the crease for a dramatic night look. It is also the most convenient palette to travel with as is slim and lightweight and comes with a large mirror.  What I'm trying to say is, this product is so versatile and is up there in my top products of all time!  Have you tried this palette, what did you think? Lots of love, Son x

My Top 5 Lipsticks

Image
Autumn is the best time to rock out the vampy plums, bright oranges and deep nudes. So I thought that I would share my 5 favourite lipsticks of the moment. 1. Hourglass Femme Rouge in the shade Raven (£22). This is a proper true Hollywood red, one that makes your teeth glisten, it glides on a dream and the slanted tip means it also acts as a sort of lip liner too. The formula is so moisturising and comfortable to wear, it looks really glossy without being over the top shiny and it wears off exceptionally well. It is perfect for people with slightly drier lips as it wont dry them out at all and looks so beautiful on. 2. No7 Moisture Drench lipstick in the shade Ginger Rose (£9.95) I already have a post on this line of lipstick so if you want to see a full review click here . This is such a gorgeous nudey shade which is perfect for people with a tan like myself, I love how well this compliments my skin tone and looks amazing with any make up look. 3. Nars Velvet Matte L

A Pop Of Colour

Image
Please excuse my extremely messy bedroom in the background! I found this gorgeous blue liquid liner (GOSH one) that my sister had bought a while ago and never used and I wanted to see what a graphic blue winged liner would look like and I was so impressed with the outcome. I probably wouldn't wear it with a bright lipstick again and would keep the rest of my make up super natural and simple but I think this pop of colour can be such a beautiful statement and really makes the eyes pop. It would also work really well with other coloured liners and is such a simple yet polished look.  Let me know what you think about it? Lots of love, Son x

A Few New Bits From The Drugstore

Image
Boots has been full of delights recently, so I couldn't possibly leave empty handed! I have been wanting to try the new reformulated L'Oreal True Match Foundation (£9.99) since it came out because I had only heard good things about it. I was a huge fan of the old version but as I have dry skin I found that it sometimes clung to the dry patches on my face and looked slightly cakey. So when I heard that the new formula was more moisturising and lighter on the skin I knew it would be love and it sure is! The shade range is extensive although a little confusing and I have the shade Golden beige which could be a better match but still suits my skin tone almost perfectly. I love how lightweight this feels whilst still possessing really good coverage. I then found myself at the Collection stand, I have somehow lost my favourite Nars concealer and am not willing at the moment to spend an arm and a leg (£22 for a concealer!! May as well be an arm and a leg!) repurchasing it. Ther

The Perfect Hair Combo

Image
I have extremely temperamental hair, so getting the right balance between just enough and too much moisture is always a tricky one. However with this duo of hair products I have been finding it really easy to keep my hair in good condition. The revlon professional 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner does exactly what it says on the tube. It cleanses the hair really well, getting rid of any grease or grime whilst not stripping it of all its moisture and keeping in good condition. The sulfate free aspect of this is also a winner as I always feel more apprehensive about using hair care products that are full of sulfates. Revlon Professional also has a version of this for every hair colour, not that I think makes a huge difference. The Big sexy hair Full bloom spray smells bloomin' amazing and keeps the hair smelling and feeling fresh for as long as you cant be bothered to wash it! It also prevents heat damage and frizz with a weightless feel. I love this sample size as I can tak

My New Favourite Mascara

Image
Being a creature of habit, when i find a product that i like i will continue to repurchase that item until it no longer suits me or i get bored of it. This routine is even more prevalent in my mascaras, when i found the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold mascara I fell in love and ended up repurchasing the same one 3 times. This is down to its fabulous formula, amazing staying power and its volumizing and lengthening effect.  Fast forward a little bit to this Summer when I went to Canada with my family, my current mascara (Estee Lauder one) was running low and i was in need of a new one. I haven't really pushed myself into the realms of different mascaras and i know what I like and I stick to what I know.  Personally, I am a huge fan of fibre bristled mascara wands as apposed to the plasticky ones. I just find they make my eyelashes look better without clumping.  I saw this miniature Benefit mascara in the aisle of doom in Sephora and the wand looked fab, bristled with a cone s

My Flawless Base

Image
Creating a flawless base is like the perfect blank canvas on top of which you can create all kinds of beautiful artwork. Therefore, when I'm trying to pull of a good make up day I tend to put a lot of my efforts into perfecting my base. This collection of products has been my go-to make up look on these kinda days. Tart Amazonian Clay Foundation- I have been seriously into this foundation recently because it seems to cover all bases. Annoyingly the packaging doesn't say the shade and my memory isn't good enough to recall which shade I'm in but if you're looking for the perfect match for you there are 25 different shades so I'm pretty sure there is one for every skin tone. It has an SPF of 15 which is brill as I think its always important to have some kind of SPF on your face when braving the outdoors. The formula is also on point, it is creamy and very smooth and glides on amazingly. It is a dream to blend and stays put all day. I have pretty dry skin and
