Sheer Glow For Summer

Image
First of all, I want to apologise for not having posted for about 2 weeks now, school has been getting very much on top of me recently, as exams are looming closer and closer. I really felt that I needed a little bit of time to just get my head around them and have a little break from blogging. However, I am back, wooooo. I probably wont be posting as regularly, and will not be sticking to my Sunday, Wednesday, Friday schedule for the time being, but I am back and in Summer will be concentrating hugely on making my blog something I am really proud of. So I hope you guys can understand and good luck to anyone at the moment with exams too! On to the good stuff, make up. Nars sheer glow has been a firm favourite foundation of mine for a good few years now and it has stayed faithful to me throughout. I am in the shade Barcelona which is a tad too dark for my skin which is why I love rocking it out when I get a bit of a tan. It has the most gorgeous formula that doesn't sit on

At Home Teeth Whitening

Image
There are so many teeth whitening options on the market nowadays, from going to a professional to buying a whitening kit, but this can really burn a hole in your purse/ wallet and to me seems all a bit unnecessary. I do however long for pearly whites that all the celebs have but I am not willing to pay the amount they do for those gnashers. After trawling the internet and finding page after page of this at home remedy I decided to try it out for myself and document my findings to relay back to you guys. Here is what you will need: A teaspoon of baking soda A squeeze of lemon juice A small bowl to mix it all in Your normal toothbrush It's pretty self explanatory really, all you need to do is shove the lemon juice and baking soda into a bowl, give it a good mix until it turns into a bubbly paste and then pop a bit onto your toothbrush. You then need to brush your teeth as normal for around 3 minutes concentrating on your front teeth. I have done this a couple o

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Image
This product is one of the most hyped around and so being the follower that I am, decided I had to try it out for myself. After being colour matched to the shade Custard by the lovely sales assistant in Selfridges, I knew I couldn't go home without being accompanied by a little yellow bag containing this gorgeous product. I haven't had the chance to try it out much as of yet but from what I can tell it has the most beautiful finish and conceals just the perfect amount. The colour match is also on point and I will definitely be getting my moneys worth out of this (quite pricey at £20). Have you tried this concealer, if so what did you think of it? Lots of love, Son x

A Day Out in London

Image
My boyfriend and I went to London yesterday to explore Madame Tussuads and do a bit of compulsory shopping. After my Brighton post being so popular I decided to drag along my camera and take a few (a plethora of) photos. Sorry if this is really boring but I loved capturing my day in an abundance of still images and I thought it might be nice to share my favourites with you. What I am wearing; Topshop Leigh Jeans Topshop Top New Balance 420's Cardigan- a small boutique I think Orelia Necklace Primark sunglasses. We strode around Regents Park for a while and basked in the glorious and very rare sunshine which was so lovely. We then went to Wasabi for lunch as we both adore sushi and gobbled down some truly scrumptious food. It was our first time at visiting Madame Tussuads and we both thoroughly enjoyed it and were amazed at how realistic the wax figures are. After a while of trawling through Self

Tips For Growing Gorgeous Hair

Image
1) Put the Curlers/ Straighteners down I'm sure you would have heard people lecture "no heat" but it really is a hair life saver! Heat is super damaging to the hair and can make the ends really weak, so if it's luscious locks you are looking for, you're going to have to sacrifice the ringlets. 2) Don't over wash it Our scalp needs natural oils in order to stay healthy and so daily cleansing will strip our hair of its natural oils causing it to either produce more causing overly greasy looking hair, or becoming extremely dry and often flaky. nice. It is advised to wash your hair once every two to three days and this can really help keep your mane really healthy and happy. 3) Get out of my face Keeping your hair loosely tied up whenever possible can help protect the ends from splitting, when it is not tied up it is a lot more likely that you will be playing with it throughout the day which can slowly make your hair greasier as well as damage the ends. But

Flawless Full Coverage Look

Image
Being a makeup hoarder can sometimes entail too much make up to be able to wear bold looks when simply going to work or school. So who doesn't love a good mess around with different products when boredom sets in of a night time. The make up I used here created a really full coverage, smokey eye and bold lip look, so I would probably wear this when going out, but whatever tickles your fancy. I forgot to include a pic of the eyeshadows of choice, I used the naked basics palette, which I am sincerely loving at this moment in time! Revlon Colourstay foundation is full of all the coverage and creates a flawless base, I love this for when I want everything to be covered but I don't wear it very often as I can find it to get a tad uncomfortable sitting on the skin and sometimes I feel it looks quite mask-like.   Collection lasting perfection concealer is again packed with coverage and conceals just about anything, watch out for any dry skin though as it can cling to dry

Starting My Mac Quad

Image
I had been lusting over a mac palette for absolutely yonks now, but the eyeshadows at £10 a pop are not cheap and the price racks up very quickly. Hence I opted for the quad as it works out to a reasonable price. The 2 shades I have already bought and fallen in love with are Espresso and All that glitters. I am going for a neutral palette, which is slightly ironic after my last post featured me talking about expanding into colour, oops. But I really want to fill it with wearable everyday shades, and possibly a more orange toned brown to do a really lovely cut crease look. Do you have any recommendations? Happy Easter by the way! Lots of love, Son x

Colour Loving

Image
It's time to rock out the colour in simple ways, as we're are into Spring and the sun has decided to grace us with it's presence. I'm more of a neutral gal when it comes to make up but Spring gives me a bit of a kick up the bum with colour and I love popping a bright lip on or adding a teensy bit of colour on the lids. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Rendezvous (Orangey one) Revlon Colourburst matte balm in the shade Elusive Urban Decay Shadow box Estee Lauder Pure Colour Nail Lacquer in the shade impassioned. What are your favourites for adding colour to you look? Lots of Love, Son x

The Everyday Face

Image
The products that I am mentioning here have definitely been acknowledged probably about a million times already on my blog (so I'm sorry if they are boring you) but hey ho, that's why I use them everyday! I haven't been wearing massive amounts of make up recently as I feel like my skin is in need of a break whilst exam season is already bearing enough stress on it. However the days that I have been reaching for my tried and true minimalist make up, these are the products that have almost always been applied. Foundation- Bourjois Healthy Mix in the shade Light beige Concealer- Maybelline age rewind Powder- Nars Pressed Powder in the shade Beach Bronzer- Benefit Hoola Bronzer Eyebrow Gel/ Wax- Laura Mercier Brow definer in the shade medium brown Mascara- Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Mascara And that's literally it for an everyday basis. What is your everyday make up routine? Lots of love, Son x
