Moisture Drench

Image
I am a creature of habit. Once I have found a formula that tickles my fancy and gains my trust I'm likely to buy into other shades within the line. In this case, after trialling No7's Moisture Drench lipstick range I was hooked. I now have 3 shades and am looking to get some more, and maybe branch out of the nudes, maybe. As the name suggests these are really nourishing on the lips and don't leave them feeling dry and flaky. The finish is creamy and they are all highly pigmented and they last a good few hours before needing to be reapplied. The shade range is massively extensive with 33 shades you are bound to find the perfect nude or bold lip to suit you. The price is also reasonable for the high quality at £9.95 however there are always offers and promotions to save money on no7. I got 2 when there was an offer of buy one get one half price (which is currently still available) plus I had a £5 off No7 voucher! The shades I have are from left to right- Pink Hint, Ginge...

Blushed

Image
I had never been a religious blush wearer until I was recently talking to the woman at the nars counter in London who told me my face looked very flat and dull without it.. What a compliment eh. So I decided to bite the bullet and delve into the world of crimson tints and I was pleasantly surprised with my findings. My first blush affair was with Benefit's Coralista, although the packaging is maybe not so alluring, the product inside is such a gem! It's rose gold peachy goodness is perfect for creating a 2 in 1 highlight and flushed effect and adds such a warm glow to the skin. Secondly comes in the form of Mac's Matte Melba, more of a subtle shade but beautiful nonetheless, I wear this on an everyday basis to add some life back into my cheeks whilst not overdoing the shimmer. Finally the middle man, Max Factor's Crème Puff Blush in the shade Lavish Mauve. I'm sure we have all heard about the resemblance between this and the somewhat more costly Hourglass ambient...

Hair Removal: The Way Forward

Image
After watching Lily Pebbles talk about the different options for removing unwanted hair it inspired me to brave into the world of epilating. I am truly converted. This Braun Silk Epil 7 has become my handy dandy life safer. It comes with 5 changeable heads, the epilator itself, the charging plug which annoyingly needs an adapter as it is a European port. It also comes with some soothing wipes which are lovely for use before and after epilating. Yes, it is (very) painful the first couple of times you use this, so ease into the legs first as they are less sensitive. I would also recommend starting with the "massage head" as it doesn't tug at the skin so much. I have really found the difference in regrowth after using this for over a month now as my hair has got a lot thinner and is growing back a lot slower which is perfect. You have to be patient and work through the pain but I would really say it is worth it once you have got used to it. The p...

Eat My Dust...

Image
Barry M recently launched their a new line of nail polishes claiming to be quick drying, their original and Gelly Hi shine polishes have done nothing but impress me and so I held high expectations when these reached stores. I'm sure we are all in agreement that having pretty polished nails makes us feel fab but the tedious job of painting them and waiting for them to dry is severely lacking in enjoyment. These definitely live up to their claims and after applying 2 coats, very smoothly might I add, my talons were dry in no time and I was able to carry on with the tasks in hand, which is a rarity after painting nails (I'm usually bed bound for the next hour, making sure my clumsy ways don't ruin my hard work). They also come in 12 of the most gorgeous shades accompanied by the cutest names of which I have 3 pretty pastels (Eat my dust, road rage and lap of honour) that will most definitely get a lot of wear this Summer. I have been wearing the pastel purple one...

Super Quick and Healthy Ice Cream Recipe

Image
Trying to be healthy whilst having a majorly sweet tooth is one giant challenge to say the least and more often than not, despite my attempts to reign in the hunger pangs, results in reaching for a sneaky chocolate bar or tub of ice cream to satisfy the cravings. Until I stumbled across this 5 minute ice cream recipe and I was sold! All you need is: 2 ripe bananas A splash of almond milk A drizzle of honey 2 teaspoons of coco powder And a handful of whatever fruit tickles your fancy, I opted for raspberries and blueberries. (If you would rather it without the fruit, no one will judge you and it tasted just as splendid!) Chop up the ripe bananas, put them into a sealable bag or tub and pop them in the freezer over night, I shove a load in the freezer and take portions out as and when I crave a quick fix. Once it has all frozen, take it out of the freezer and pop it in a blender with the rest of the ingredients and blitz it until it has formed a ice cream l...

2 Steps To The Perfect Base

Image
As the Summer months roll in my base specification changes slightly, I want my skin to look flawless and glowing and bronzed but not heaped with make up. To achieve this I have been using these two products; The Clarins instant light radiance boosting complexion base alongside the Clarins instant concealer. Starting with the complexion base which I thinly buff all over to give a small amount of coverage but it's main purpose is brightening the skin and evening out the skin tone. This is really moisturising, is a great colour match for my skin and also gives a gorgeous overall glow. It comes in 3 shades, each catering to a large range of skin types and shades so there is one to suit everyone. I then go over any blemishes, dark circles or pigmentation with the instant concealer. It has quite a thin consistency which means that it can be built up to create pretty high coverage without getting at all cake-face-esque. This duo has been a go to on days where I want to let my skin ...

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow

Image
I was really lucky this birthday as my wonderful friends bought me the sought after Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow and I am well and truly in love! This palette obtains two of the most perfectly created shades which complement my olive skin tone like no other, it would also work fantastically on fairer skin tones as the contour shade has grey undertones so won't end up making fair skin look really orange and cakey. The highlighter is just gorgeous and gives off the most amazing glow to the tops of the cheekbones and as the flecks of shimmer are so tiny there is no worries of ending up with disco ball cheeks! I have also been using the highlighter in the inner corners of my eyes to really brighten and open up the eyes. The packaging is also to die for, as expected with everything that comes from such a high end top quality brand as Charlotte Tilbury definitely is. Thumbs up all round on my behalf. Lots of love, Son x
